The use of the barre will be introduced at this level, followed by centre work and dance. Proper alignment and classical technique develop, where students are taught basic ballet barre exercises. Students continue to work on travelling and linking steps with an introduction to Grand Allegro and more complex turns. Awareness of technique and musicality continues for progression. Students will also learn set classical dances as well as character dances, which help them discover self-expression and performance style.
