The use of the barre will be introduced in Grade 1 Ballet, followed by centre work and dance. Proper alignment and classical technique develops, where students are taught basic barre exercises with Pliés and Tendus. Students continue to work on travelling and linking steps with an introduction to Grand Allegro. Awareness of technique and musicality continues for progression. Students will also learn set classical dances as well as character dances, which help them discover self-expression and performance style.
