Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Examinations

Established in 1920, Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is an international teacher education and awarding organisation for dance.  A leading dance organisation, RAD is recognised globally for the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Performers Ballet Academy is proud to provide RAD classes, enabling students to participate in world-wide recognised ballet exams and competitions.

 

RAD Examinations Information:

Age Specifications (on the 1st of January in the year of enrolment)

Pre-school dance curriculum - Level 1 (Age - minimum 3 years)
Pre-school dance curriculum - Level 2 (Age - minimum 4 years)
Pre-Primary in Dance (Age - minimum 5 years)
Primary in Dance (Age - minimum 6 years)
Grade 1 to Grade 3 (Age - minimum 7 years)
Grade 4 and Grade 5 (Age - minimum 9 years)
Intermediate Foundation (Age - minimum 11 years)
Intermediate (Age - minimum 12 years)
Advance Foundation (Age - minimum 13 years)
Advanced 1 (Age - minimum 14 years)
Advanced 2 (Age - minimum 15 years)
Solo Seal (Age - minimum 15 years)

*Candidates must have reached the age required by the 1st of January (in the year of enrolment) to take an exam in January to August of that year. Candidates must have reached the age required by the 1st of September to take an exam in September to December of that year.
